Leaders and leadership styles
A leader guides and inspires people towards a goal. Leaders differ in who makes the decisions: the leader alone, the leader with the team, or the team on its own. Paper 1 describes a manager and asks you to name the style.
By the end of this page you can
- Tell autocratic, democratic and laissez-faire leaders apart
- Give an advantage and a disadvantage of each style
- List the qualities of a good leader
- Recommend a style for a business and say why
