What makes consumers buy, and packaging

Consumer behaviour is how people decide what to buy. Price, quality, taste, income and habit all play a part, and so does the way goods are packed and presented. Paper 1 asks which factor is LEAST likely to influence consumer behaviour (place of residence) in most recent years.

By the end of this page you can

  • Describe the factors that influence what consumers buy
  • Explain how a price change affects buying
  • Give the functions of packaging
  • Explain why brand names matter

Goals tick themselves off as you try the activities below.
