Remember
- The whole grid is 1. One column is one tenth (0.1) and one square is one hundredth (0.01).
- 0.4 is bigger than 0.35: 4 tenths is 40 squares, more than 35. Fill in a zero to compare: 0.40 and 0.35.
- Percent means out of a hundred: 35% is 35 squares, 35/100, 0.35. Half is 50%, a quarter is 25%, a fifth is 20%.
- To find 20% of 50: 100 squares are 50, so each square is 0.5, and 20 squares are 10.
